Accra — Petroleum products have increased by between 15 and more than 20 percent, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA)announced.
The price increment took effect Monday.
The price of petrol (premium) saw the highest increase up 23,08 percent to GH¢3.36 a litre.
Kerosene saw an increase of 23,75 percent while diesel increased 22,01 percent to 327pesewas.
Premix fuel also went up by 25,6 per cent to GH¢1.57 per litre.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) saw an upward increase of 15,68 percent, selling now at GH¢3,32 per litre according to the latest NPA figures.
This is the third time the NPA increased the fuel prices this year.
Meanwhile, transport operators have already announced a 15 percent increment in fares with immediate effect.
The new fares announced Saturday, was reached after consultations between the Transport Ministry and the transport operators represented by the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC).
In a joint statement officials said the new transport fares cover intra-city (Trotro), inter-city (Long Distance) as well as taxi cabs.
They urged transport operators to strictly comply and charge only approved fares as well as publish them at the various transport terminals to avoid any confrontation with passengers.
