President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has disclosed that electricity supply from the Hydro plant will begin December 2016.
The government had earlier announced that the Hydro will become operational in December this year.
Speaking to journalists Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia, President Johnson-Sirleaf said works on the Hydro were hindered as a result of the Ebola crisis which affected every sector.
She said with progress made in fighting the Ebola virus, plans are underway to begin work on the Hydro.
Already, she said a contract has been signed for the construction of camps for workers.
The Liberian President said international contractors who left the country as a result of Ebola will return as soon as Liberia is declared Ebola free by the World Health Organization.
President Johnson-Sirleaf said government has already mobilized funds for the rehabilitation of the Hydro.
She said all would be done to ensure that the Hydro becomes operational by December 2016.
At the same time, the President said works on the Somalia Drive Road would begin once the Japanese return to Liberia.
